GreenBEES-- Updating
It’s been six months since we stopped salary work to start this company. We’ve been busy but we have yet to lift a straw bale. However, most of all- it’s been fun. We have learned about starting a business and how money flows and still have a long way to go on these issues. We’ve also have hired a designer, drawn a floor plan, found a site and started our application process. We are in the middle of getting Loudoun County Va. to approve their first Nutricycle System ( Composting toilet and gray water) and more first time approvals will hopefully follow.
Our green building research has also helped define just what type of “deep green” we are working towards. Natural building material will both save energy and lead to a healthier house. Passive solar is an excellent opportunity to use the sun’s heat in an efficient way that save lots of money. Recycling your organic material to you own landscape though the Nutricycle System completes the natural loop and provides fertilizer resources too. The processes are coming together in an organic way.
Please see “our houses” for the floor plans and “photos” of our site at Ecovillage. The day we break ground will be a real achievement.
